Apple Watch repair

Apple Watch repair done at the board level, not just swapped out

When an Apple Watch breaks, Apple's usual answer is to replace the whole sealed unit, often for $299 on an aluminum Series or SE and around $499 on an Ultra, which on an older watch can cost nearly what a new one does. We do it differently. We open the watch, find the actual fault, and fix that part, whether it's a cracked display module, a swollen battery pushing the screen up, a dead charging coil, or a tiny board-level problem other shops won't touch. Walk into our Arlington, VA bench or send it in tracked from anywhere in the 50 states. Every Apple Watch starts with a $65 written diagnostic, and that fee comes off your repair if you move forward.

The short answer

Yes, an Apple Watch is usually worth repairing, and WeFixed does it at the board level instead of swapping the whole sealed unit like Apple. We fix the actual fault, whether a cracked bonded display, a swollen battery lifting the screen, a dead charging coil, or a chip-level issue. Series 1 through 10, SE, and Ultra. Every job starts with a 65 dollar written diagnostic.

Glass-only repair is not possible on Apple Watch; the glass, OLED, and touch layer are one sealed module.

What we fix

Every Apple Watch fault, repaired right.

Cracked or shattered screen

A drop onto tile or concrete can crack the Ion-X or sapphire glass instantly. On Apple Watch the glass, OLED, and digitizer are one bonded module, so we replace the whole display assembly and re-seal it, restoring the touch response and water gasket the original had.

Swollen battery lifting the screen

If the display edge is rising off the case or the watch no longer sits flush on your wrist, the battery is swelling from the inside. This is a genuine safety issue. We remove it carefully, fit a fresh cell, and check the screen and frame weren't bent in the process.

Won't charge or charges intermittently

A watch that won't take a charge isn't always the battery. We test the inductive charging coil, the U-shaped flex, and the power circuit on the board to tell a worn-out battery apart from a coil or charging-IC fault before you pay for the wrong fix.

No power, boot loops, or no backlight

A watch that's dark, stuck on the Apple logo, or showing a lit-but-blank screen often has a board-level cause: a damaged power rail, a backlight fault, or a cracked solder joint. This is the work we specialize in and that other shops mail out.

Back sensor glass & heart-rate readings

The back crystal houses the optical heart-rate and ECG sensors. Cracks there, or a Force Touch sensor torn during a bad prior repair, can cause missing readings or erratic taptic feedback. We assess whether it's the sensor glass, the flex, or the board.

Water damage & lost water resistance

Apple Watches are water-resistant, not waterproof, and that seal degrades with age and after any opening. We clean and treat liquid intrusion, replace corroded parts, and re-seal with fresh adhesive, then tell you honestly how much resistance we can give back.

Good to know

Apple Watch repair, answered honestly.

Is it worth repairing an Apple Watch screen?
Often yes, and usually for less than Apple charges. Apple replaces the entire watch and quotes roughly $299 for aluminum Series and SE models and about $499 for the Ultra, which on a few-year-old watch approaches the price of a new one. A targeted display or battery repair from us is typically a fraction of that. Our $65 diagnostic tells you the honest repair cost first, so you can decide before spending a cent on parts.
Can the cracked glass be replaced without replacing the whole screen?
Not on Apple Watch. The glass, OLED panel, and touch layer are fused into one sealed display module, so there's no safe way to swap just the outer glass without ruining the panel underneath. We replace the full assembly and re-seal it. Anyone promising glass-only on an Apple Watch is cutting a corner you'll regret.
My Apple Watch screen is lifting at the edge. Is that dangerous?
Treat it as urgent. A lifting screen almost always means the battery is swelling and pressing the display outward. A swollen lithium cell is a fire and burn risk, so stop charging the watch and bring it in. We remove the swollen battery safely, fit a new one, and confirm the screen and case weren't warped by the pressure.
Can I mail my Apple Watch in from outside Virginia?
Yes. We take tracked mail-in repairs from all 50 states alongside walk-ins at our Arlington, VA bench. You ship the watch, we run the same $65 written diagnostic, message you the assessment and price, and ship it back insured once you approve. OEM and OLED parts carry a 1-year warranty; aftermarket parts carry 1 month.
