Apple Watch Repair
Apple Watch Screen Replacement
- Keep your Watch
- OLED + digitizer
- Splash-resistant reseal
- 1-year OEM warranty
Apple doesn't really repair Watch screens, they swap the whole unit, and the bill shows it. We do the actual board-level work in-house and put your Watch back together.
An Apple Watch screen is one of the most delicate displays we handle. The OLED is bonded straight to the digitizer, the whole stack is glued into the case with aggressive adhesive, and the display flex cable is microsoldered to the logic board, tear it and a simple glass job becomes a board repair. That's exactly the kind of work we've specialized in for 11 years. When Apple quotes you a whole-unit replacement, we can often save you real money by replacing only the screen and keeping the Watch you already own.
When you need a screen replacement
- Glass is cracked but the display and touch still work, cosmetic now, but the crack lets in moisture and spreads
- Cracked glass with dead or erratic touch, the digitizer layer is damaged and inputs are missed or ghost-tapping
- Screen lifting or popping up at one edge, almost always a swollen battery pushing the display out; stop wearing it and bring it in
- Black or blank display but the Watch still vibrates, chimes, and charges, the panel or its flex connection failed, not the whole device
- Lines, flicker, or dead touch zones across the OLED, damaged display or a strained, partially torn flex cable
- A visible gap or loose edge where the screen meets the case, broken adhesive seal that kills water resistance and exposes internals
Honest by default
Every device starts with a $65 diagnostic and a written report, exact cost and timeline before we touch it. The fee applies toward your repair.
Apple Watch screen pricing depends on your model and case size, and on whether we use a genuine OEM OLED assembly or a quality aftermarket display. OEM panels match factory color and brightness and carry our 1-year warranty; aftermarket assemblies cost less and carry a 1-month warranty. Every repair starts with a $65 written diagnostic that applies toward your repair, so you get a firm, honest quote before we touch the adhesive.
Genuine OLED assembly vs quality aftermarket
| What matters | Genuine OLED assembly | Quality aftermarket |
|---|---|---|
| Warranty | 1 year | 1 month |
| Display | Genuine OLED, factory match | Close, can vary slightly by panel |
| Color & brightness | Factory match | Close, varies by panel |
| Best for | Keeping the Watch long-term | A lower-cost fix |
The display flex is microsoldered to the board, so we treat a screen job with board-level care and can often save you real money over Apple's whole-unit swap. We tell you which panel your quote uses before any work.
Our screen replacement process
Assess: glass-only vs full assembly
We power-test the Watch and inspect under magnification to confirm whether you need glass only or a complete OLED-and-digitizer assembly. On modern Watches the OLED is fused to the digitizer, so a true "glass-only" fix isn't always possible, we tell you straight which path your model and damage actually allow.
Delicate flex and adhesive removal
We lift the display with controlled heat and thin picks to release the OCA adhesive without tearing the microsoldered display flex cable, the part that turns a screen swap into a logic-board repair if handled roughly. ECG and sensor flex are protected the entire time.
Transfer or replace the screen
We fit the correct display for your exact model and case size and confirm full touch, brightness, and Force Touch behavior where applicable (Apple dropped Force Touch starting with Series 6). If a swollen battery caused a lifting screen, we address that too rather than reseal over a hazard.
Re-seal and water test note
We rebuild the adhesive seal with fresh gasket and adhesive and verify the watch closes flush. Honest note: no third-party reseal restores factory water resistance permanently. We rebuild it as tightly as possible, treat the Watch as splash-resistant afterward, not swim-rated.

Why bring an Apple Watch screen to WeFixed
Most shops mail Apple Watch screen jobs out, because the bonded OLED and the microsoldered display flex are unforgiving, and one torn cable turns the job into board-level repair. We've done that board-level and microsoldering work for 11 years, in-house, in our only lab in Clarendon. That means we can handle the screen swap and the rare flex or board complication under one roof, instead of shipping your Watch around. Walk in at 2722 Washington Blvd N in Arlington, or mail it in tracked from anywhere in the 50 states. We give you an honest assessment, a clear quote after the $65 diagnostic.
