Cracked or dead screen

Shattered glass, black or flickering panels, dead pixels and bad backlights. We replace LCD and OLED assemblies and repair the display cable and connector when a swap alone won't fix it.

Won't charge / dead DC jack

Charges only at the right angle, or not at all. Worn barrel jacks and USB-C ports loosen and crack their solder joints; we re-solder or replace the port and test the charging circuit.

Swollen battery

A swelling pack lifts the keyboard, trackpad or screen and is a real fire risk, common on sealed Surface and ultrabook designs. We safely remove it and fit a fresh cell.

Liquid spill

Coffee, water or soda triggers corrosion that spreads for days. We open it fast, ultrasonically clean the board, and repair shorted traces before they take out the SSD or charging IC.

Won't power on

No lights, no fan, no boot. We trace power rails, BIOS and the charging circuit on the mainboard to find the failed component instead of quoting a whole new board.

Hinge and flex damage

Stiff or broken hinges crack the lid and tear the display cable and antennas inside. We rebuild the hinge mounts and repair the chassis so the screen opens cleanly again.

Can you recover data from a soldered SSD that won't boot?

Yes. Many thin laptops and every Microsoft Surface solder the SSD straight to the mainboard, so when the board fails most shops declare the data gone. In our lab we either repair the board enough to boot it once, or read the memory chips directly at the component level to pull your files. Bring it in or mail it tracked, and we'll tell you what's recoverable after the $65 diagnostic.

My laptop only charges if I wiggle the cable. Is that worth fixing?

Almost always, yes. That's a worn DC jack or USB-C port with cracked solder joints, not a dead laptop. We re-solder or replace the port and verify the charging circuit, which is far cheaper than a new machine. Keep using it that way and the loose port can short and damage the board.

Do you fix swollen batteries, and is it safe to keep using the laptop?

We do, and you should stop using it now. A swollen lithium battery lifts the keyboard, trackpad or screen and can rupture or catch fire, especially in sealed Surface and ultrabook designs. We safely remove the old pack, fit a fresh cell, and check the board for damage it may have caused.

What's your warranty and do I have to come to Arlington?
