Samsung Galaxy Battery Replacement

Your Galaxy used to last all day. Now it drops 30% before lunch, dies at 40%, or the back glass is starting to lift. We replace the cell safely, with genuine parts, and check whether the battery was ever the real problem.

Galaxy batteries aren't a snap-in part anymore. The cell is glued deep under the screen or back glass, and a swollen one can crack the AMOLED or pop the back panel. We handle that the right way — and if a fresh battery doesn't fix the shutdowns, we already know where to look next.

When you need a battery replacement

  • Fast drain — the phone burns through a full charge in a few hours with light use
  • Random shutdowns or restarts, often while the battery still reads 30–50%
  • Swelling — the screen lifts at an edge, the back glass bulges, or the frame separates
  • Won't hold a charge — it climbs to 100% then drops fast, or never reaches full
  • Overheating during charging, gaming, or even idle on the desk
  • Slow charging that takes hours, or charges only in fits and starts

Honest by default

Every device starts with a $65 diagnostic and a written report — exact cost and timeline before we touch it. The fee applies toward your repair.

Final cost depends on your exact Galaxy model and how it opens — screen-off access and back-off access take different work and adhesive. We never guess. Your $65 written diagnostic confirms the model, checks cycle data and the charging circuit, and applies toward the repair if you move forward.

How we do it

Our battery replacement process

01

Inspect and handle the cell safely

We check Battery Information and cycle data, then inspect for swelling. A puffed cell is a real fire and pressure risk — we discharge and remove it without puncturing or bending the pouch. If yours is swollen, stop using it and bring it in.

02

Open the right way for your model

Depending on the Galaxy, the battery sits under the screen assembly or behind the back glass — both set in strong, heat-activated adhesive. We warm the panel evenly and pry with controlled tools so the AMOLED and back glass survive the swap intact.

03

Install a genuine cell and reseal

We fit a genuine or OEM-grade battery, route the connector cleanly, and replace the perimeter and battery adhesive so water resistance and structural seal are restored — not taped back together.

04

Calibrate and confirm the real fix

We let the battery cycle, watch the charge curve, and verify the shutdowns are gone. If they aren't, the cell was a symptom — we test the charging IC and PMIC on the board, which is work most shops can't do in-house.

Is a swollen Galaxy battery dangerous?

Yes. A swollen cell is under pressure and can crack the screen, lift the back glass, or in rare cases catch fire. Stop using and charging the phone, don't press on the bulge, and bring it in. We discharge and remove swollen cells safely every week.

Genuine battery or aftermarket — which do you use?

We use genuine or OEM-grade cells. They hold rated capacity, charge at the right speed, and report health correctly to the phone. Cheap aftermarket cells fade fast and can confuse the charging system. Genuine and OLED work carries a 1-year warranty; aftermarket parts carry 1 month.

Why is a Galaxy battery harder to replace than an iPhone?

The cell is glued deep — under the screen assembly or behind sealed back glass, depending on the model — held by strong adhesive in a tight well. Reaching it means heating and prying a panel that can crack if it's rushed. It's a careful, board-aware job, not a five-minute swap.

Will my AMOLED screen survive the swap?

In the vast majority of cases, yes. The risk comes from uneven heat and impatient prying — exactly what 11 years of board-level work trains you to avoid. If the panel was already cracked or lifted by swelling, we'll tell you up front before we open it.

How long does a Galaxy battery replacement take?

Most are same-day once we've diagnosed the model and confirmed parts. Adhesive removal and reseal take real time, so we'd rather do it right than fast. Mail-in jobs ship back as soon as testing clears.

What if a new battery doesn't fix the shutdowns?

Then the battery wasn't the whole story. Random shutdowns can come from a failing charging IC or PMIC on the logic board. We test those in-house — most shops mail that out — so you get an actual diagnosis instead of a parts-swap guessing game.

Why bring your Galaxy to WeFixed

We're an independent board-level lab — 11 years of microsoldering, not a kiosk. That matters for batteries, because a Galaxy that keeps shutting down often has a board problem hiding behind a tired cell. We can open the AMOLED panel cleanly, swap the cell safely, reseal it properly, and if the shutdowns persist, test the charging IC and PMIC right here. Honest diagnosis, genuine parts, and we never sell your data. Walk in at our Clarendon lab or ship it to us tracked from any of the 50 states.
