Google Pixel Screen Replacement
Cracked OLED, dead touch, or a fingerprint reader that quit after a drop — we replace Pixel displays the right way, including the under-display sensor recalibration most shops skip.
Pixel screens are not iPhone screens. The panels come off Samsung lines, genuine stock is harder to source than Apple parts, and every Pixel 6 and newer hides an under-display fingerprint sensor that has to be recalibrated to the new glass or it simply will not unlock your phone. We are an 11-year board-level repair lab in Clarendon, and we treat a Pixel screen swap as the precision job it actually is — honest part grades, honest lead times, and the recalibration step done in-house.
When you need a screen replacement
- Cracked or shattered OLED — spider cracks, a black bruise, or glass lifting at a corner after a drop.
- Lines, color bands, or dead spots — vertical/horizontal lines, washed-out patches, or pixels that never light up.
- Ghost touch or unresponsive zones — the screen taps itself, or part of the panel ignores you entirely.
- Fingerprint reader failed after damage — the under-display sensor stopped enrolling or unlocking once the glass cracked.
- No display but the phone is alive — it rings, vibrates, and shows up on a computer, but the screen stays dark.
- Pixel Fold inner screen damage — a crease tear, dead flexible panel, or cracked inner glass on the folding display.
Honest by default
Every device starts with a $65 diagnostic and a written report — exact cost and timeline before we touch it. The fee applies toward your repair.
Pixel screen cost is driven by three things: the model and generation (a Pixel 6a panel is not a Pixel 9 Pro or a Fold inner display), whether we use a genuine Google service panel versus a vetted aftermarket OLED, and the fingerprint recalibration work on Pixel 6 and newer. The Fold's inner screen is a frame-assembly job and priced accordingly. Every repair starts with a $65 written diagnostic that applies toward the repair if you proceed.
Our screen replacement process
Diagnostic & honest part sourcing
We confirm it is the panel and not a board fault, then quote your real options: a genuine Google service panel when we can source it, or a vetted aftermarket OLED. We tell you the actual lead time up front — genuine Pixel stock is scarcer than iPhone, and we would rather set the expectation than oversell same-day.
Careful OLED removal
Pixel OLEDs are exceptionally thin and crack at the slightest over-insertion. We use controlled heat and shallow, measured separation to lift the old panel and transfer the under-display fingerprint sensor without damaging the flex or the frame.
Fingerprint sensor recalibration
On Pixel 6 and newer, a new screen changes the optical path the under-display reader depends on. We recalibrate the sensor to the new panel using Google's repair workflow so enrollment and unlock work — the step that leaves the reader dead at shops that skip it.
Test, seal & warranty
We verify touch across the whole panel, brightness, true tone, and a full fingerprint re-enroll, then reseal the device. Genuine OLED replacements carry a 1-year warranty; aftermarket panels carry 1 month.
Will my fingerprint scanner work after a Pixel screen replacement?
Yes — when it is done correctly. The under-display reader on Pixel 6 and newer must be recalibrated to the new panel, and the panel itself has to be compatible with the sensor. We run Google's calibration workflow in-house and re-enroll your print before you leave. Skipping this step is the most common reason a fingerprint reader stays dead after a swap elsewhere.
Do you use genuine Google OLED panels?
We use genuine Google service panels whenever we can source them, and we will tell you honestly when stock is tight. Genuine Pixel panels are harder to source than iPhone parts, so lead time can be a few days. When you want a faster or lower-cost option, we offer a vetted aftermarket OLED and explain the trade-offs first.
How is an aftermarket Pixel screen different from genuine?
Aftermarket OLEDs can look fine in shop lighting but often run dimmer, show weaker color accuracy, and feel less responsive — you notice it most outdoors and at full brightness. They also pair less reliably with the fingerprint sensor. We are upfront about which grade you are getting and what to expect from it.
Can you repair a Pixel Fold inner screen?
Yes. The Fold's inner flexible panel is extremely fragile and is serviced as a frame assembly — we transfer your board, cameras, and battery into a service unit with the new inner screen and hinge pre-aligned, rather than peeling and re-gluing a panel by hand. It is a precise, board-level job, which is exactly the work we specialize in.
How long does a Pixel screen replacement take?
Once the correct panel is in hand, most Pixel screen replacements are a same-day or next-day repair including fingerprint recalibration and testing. The variable is sourcing — if a genuine panel has to be ordered, we give you the real lead time before you commit. The Fold inner-screen repair takes longer.
What warranty comes with a Pixel screen repair?
Genuine OLED replacements are covered by a 1-year warranty. Aftermarket panels carry a 1-month warranty. Either way you get a written diagnostic and a clear record of exactly which part grade went into your phone.
Why bring a Pixel to WeFixed
Most shops mail Pixel board work out and treat the screen as a snap-on part — which is how fingerprint readers come back dead and aftermarket panels get passed off as genuine. We are an independent, 11-year board-level lab in Clarendon doing the microsoldering and recalibration in-house, on-site. You get straight answers about part grades and lead times, the fingerprint recalibration step done right, and a written diagnostic — never upsells, never a data grab. Walk in at 2722 Washington Blvd N in Arlington, or use tracked mail-in from any of the 50 states.
